INTRODUCING VIRTUAL PORTRAIT SESSIONS
Practicing distancing and being physically apart from our loved ones does not mean we can’t still facilitate meaningful connection and make meaningful and beautiful images. Our virtual family portrait sessions are a chance to break from our new routines and have fun together. Due to the nature of the digital connection, and reflective perhaps of the control we no longer have, there are bound to be tech issues with wifi and service and exposure that we will have to roll with BUT isn’t that the nature of life anyway? Virtual portrait sessions are about collaboration, play and acknowledging our present circumstances.?
-20 minutes collaborative virtual portrait session
-Posing and direction from your photographer
-A high-tech and low fi documentation of your life at home right now
-10 digital images
HOW DO VIRTUAL SESSIONS WORK??
WHERE DO WE SHOOT?
In your home. We can be in the kitchen, the living room, your bedroom – any place that you are spending your time right now.? What we need is space, window light, and wifi access.??
When you book your virtual session, I will send you a link that you can use to log into to connect with me.? When our session begins,? we will say introduce ourselves and I?ll start with you giving me a tour of your home. As your device is making exposure decisions for us so I want to be able to check out all the lighting available.? I may ask you to turn lights off or on.??
We will also need to prop your device on things: chairs, stools or stacks of boxes or books work well.? Or a phone stand – anything that you can prop the phone up on so you can get into the image.?
WHAT DO YOU WEAR?
There is no need to dress up! This is a documentation of you at this moment in time right now.? I know some of us are in need of haircuts, and that?s ok!?
DURING THE SESSION
Like at our usual in person portrait sessions, with posing and guidance on what to do and where to go, I?ll direct you on where to prop up your device and where to be. And then I?ll capture the image.?
As these are screen captures, these images will be best seen on screen. After your session, You?ll get access to 10 final artistic finished images to enjoy yourself, or share with whomever you like.?
HOW SIMILAR TO A REGULAR SESSION IS THIS?
We are making the best of our current circumstances and keeping everyone?s personal safety a priority These virtual sessions are a way to continue helping tell people?s stories through pictures. So while this is not meant to replace the in-person portrait experience that we normally create for our clients. And by nature of the capture, the images are low resolution so we can?t do our usual gorgeous albums and wall prints. It is an avenue to stay connected, to document this moment in our lives.?
