Commander’s Mansion Fall Wedding
They met tango dancing in DC. And many moves and a few years later they were planning their late October wedding at the Commander?s House in Watertown. It as a low-key and intimate wedding, with about 30 guests. As dancing is close to their heart, and the start of their love story they wanted to tango - thus the parlor floor and the band were carefully considered. A simple civil ceremony was held upstairs in the Commander's Mansion Yellow Room with an officiant and strings, and lots of beaming from the bride and groom.
Red Lion Inn Fall Wedding
Everything took place right there at Cohasett's Red Lion Inn, a wedding venue on the south shore that is equal parts elegant historic New England Inn and rustic barn rolled into one. The vows were said, and toasted with a flask, at the foot of the stairs in the natural wood Lion?s Hall under a chandelier. After the ceremony, the guests moved over to the Salon du Soleil for cocktail hour while the Hall was transitioned into the reception venue.D and C chose colors and textures that perfectly echoed the casual/elegant and Irish! look for the day. The groom and his groomsmen and the ring bearers all rocked a casual look: white button down shirt, burnt orange tie, with brown khakis, striped socks and Sperry sneakers and ivory Irish knit cable cardigansThe bride?s dress was an elegant halter dress, accessorized with the groom's grandmother's pearl necklace, bride's grandmother's ring and diamond earrings - the very ones with which the groom proposed. The bridesmaids were in sage green dresses with gold shoes completed with rose gold necklaces and bracelets. All four flower girls were in white dresses with plum sashes.
