BOSTON WEDDING
Some of my favorite weddings every year are civil ceremonies at City Hall. Joanne and Johnny wanted an intimate City Hall wedding ceremony with just their son, so they decided to get married at Boston City Hall last week. With the new school year underway, and a new home purchase in process – they decided to forego a big wedding and have a small wedding instead.
CIVIL CEREMONY
This wedding was a small intimate wedding with just the three key people: bride, groom and their son who acted as ring bearer. I love small weddings like this one. The love, the joy; the excitement is all bundled into a small intimate time frame.Boston City Clerk, Maureen Feeney, who is one of my favorite Boston wedding officiants, presided over their civil ceremony in her office at Boston City Hall. She was wonderful with their son, giving him detailed instructions to how to hold their rings, where to stand, and when to give them to his parents. He sat every patiently waiting for his moment, and putting the rings on his fingers.
WEDDING PORTRAITS
We were ahead of the rain on Friday, so we went outside onto City Hall Plaza (the part that has been softened from the sea of brick to trees) to make some family portraits commemorating this special day in all of their lives.
The bride stunned in a white jumpsuit and sparkly heels. The groom looked so dapper in his three piece grey suit complete with pink and grey tie and pink pocket square.
GETTING MARRIED AT BOSTON CITY HALL
Most wedding are scheduled on weekends, I love the excitement that happens in small intimate weekday weddings. I offer weekday wedding and intimate wedding coverage includes photographing the ceremony and a relaxed portrait session after the ceremony for complete narrative coverage. There are so many little spots close to Government Center to take portraits that show Boston, both historic and modern.
