GET IN TOUCH
Born to run. Born to celebrate. ?Born to love.
There was a running metaphor at this wedding. ?I mean the metaphor was about the running. ?B and F met through running, and have since made many runs together, this one in particular towards each other. ?Running and dragonflies. ?It started with a gift of a teapot what was decorated with dragonflies and it has become a motif or perhaps a totem for them.
The wedding was held at a family home in Duxbury, Massachusetts. ?There were flurries of getting ready, and excitement of watching guests arrive and the handsome groom graciously greeting people from the window of the bride’s childhood bedroom.
The celebrations began at the ceremony, held at the edge of a beautifully green marsh. ?Graham, of one and only of Opus, officiated, using the Born to Run book as the book from which he read.
The service was opened with this quote from Mary Ann Evans:
Friendship is the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring all right out just as they are, chaff and grain together, certain that a faithful friendly hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping and, with a breath of comfort, blow the rest away.
A cousin sang beautifully, and the recessional was led out by a bagpiper, as a nod to the bride’s maternal heritage. ?The guests walked from the ceremony right into a sprawling cocktail hour under the trees and gradually made their way to the tented reception. ?Beautiful bare dark wood table tops, and paper?dragonflies perched on wine glasses. ?Elegant and rustic both.
There was food and dancing and more dancing and more food. This crowd did not want to leave the dance floor, and so they danced into the night.
I would say that B and F?are well on their way to a happily ever after. ?And, with?the comfort and safety?of?each other, further adventures into the unknown.
