Sometimes I don’t want to leave a party. In this case, I didn’t want to leave the sangeet. Mostly, when my contracted time is up, ?I’m ready to pack up and head home and download cards as fast as possible. Because instant gratification. Because the facebook.
But there are times when all I want to do is to put my gear away and chill and soak in the party.? The wedding weekend began like this. And ended like this (see following post). So yes,?it was amazing. The sangeet at Middleborough Town Hall?was N’s family’s contribution to the weekend and an introduction for J’s family to ritual and customs of Indian weddings. ?The brides and their mothers both wore beautiful sari.?Traditional dance and song filled the town hall. And also ?food and beer. And then more food and more beer. ?And mehndi?stations. ?And amazing DJs and some of my awesome former clients. ?All in all a joy. Do you see why I didn’t want to depart? Note to self: next time skip the mehndi if you need to handle or pack your gear.
